Do you want to know what Gamification really is about? Ready to design fun and engaging learning experiences? Are you ready to experience teaching with game design?
Throughout this learning journey, ADST/CS educators will be able to harness the motivational power of gamification, fulfill pedagogical goals and thus meet the requirements of the CSTA (Computer Science Teacher Association) Standards framework for computer science education and complementary content strands: computational thinking, collaboration, computing practice and programming, computers and communication devices, and community global and ethical impacts (Behnke, 2015) .
Onboarding Review

Through this learning environment, you will be able to:
- Understand the nature of play and the concept of gamification in depth and its various elements and features.
- Explore the various ways in which game design approaches and elements could be situated into real learning scenarios, as well as, the learning theories that leverage game mechanics.
- Examine the various gamified platforms specialized for computer programming.
- Determine how to gamify instructional events through an instructional lesson plan that features the use of game mechanics effectively and progressively.
- Engage in a gamified learning module “The Bee-bot Mission” that demonstrates the application of gamification in teaching ADST/CS curricula.

- Begin your journey by clicking on the above tabs in order from left to right: Registration, Foundation, Design, Application, Community, Feedback Survey
- You can access the site content without registration. However, you will need to register yourself to be able to personalize your experience and engage in the “earn a badge” activities featuring each section.
- After registering, if you want to change your Avatar, go to the top right menu–> Select “Profile”–> change your profile photo.
- You can track all your activities by selecting the same menu –>Activity. (Note: any badge earned will be displayed on the right-side widget as well).
- Some pages will feature an activity or a discussion that links to the learning on the page. You don’t need to sign-up for an account to be able to participate in these activities.
- At the end of each section, you can earn a badge. Earning the badge is very simple; just accomplish the required task. Our aim is to acknowledge your achievement while progressing through the learning experience.
- To extend your knowledge about gamification, we highly recommend you to be an active member
in our community and participate in our “Community Café” in the “Community” menu. Click on “General Discussions” and start socializing with other members in our community of practice. - “Resources” about gamification and its applications (platforms) are provided and we are expecting more with your contributions.
